Positional Plagiocephaly

My son has Positional Plagiocephaly which mean his head is overly flat on the back side. Not too big of a deal. The Dr said it had gotten to bad to just adjust his sleeping habits so she sents us to http://www.cranialtech.com/ which is the first and one of the only places that do the helmet with bands for correction. It sounded great. They said it would only take 4 to 6 weeks to get his head back into the correct shape. They submitted the insurance information and we thought we were all set as we have amazing insurance. I pay ALOT extra for my companies OAP (Open Access Plus) plan which has no deductibles and amazing coverage. We have never had to pay anything for our Doctor visits except the Co-Pays.
Well I guys there is a specific clause in the OAP that says the they do not cover Cranial molding UNLESS it is just after brain surgery! So the Cranial Tech place tells us it will be $3300 our of pocket! Holy Crap. We are already having financial trouble as it is and now this. We inquired about a possible discount and they said if we can pay everything up fron they will reduce the price by $300...LOL What a joke.
So right now we are in a bind as we will not have the available funds until our tax return comes in around the middle of February. Like I told my amazing wife we will find a way. If my kids needs something I WILL find a way to provide what is needed. It will just take alittle time.

But this kind of left a down feeling on the end of our holiday. My wife was extremely upset with this whole situation. But overall Christmas was good. The kids got TONS of crap and just loved Santa coming to our house. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve party at my parents house. My brothers, cousins, and good friends all came making it a HUGE croud. We drank alot, had some awesone steak, smoked an amazing celebratory cigar (Fuente Anejo Shark), and had great conversation. It was a good night.
But on a side note my little brother Jesse who recently had a little baby boy asked his girlfriend and babies momma to get married on Christmas eve at the Gaylord Texans Ice Exhibit. That last few months have been trying for them and I hope that they push through to enjoy parenthood.
But I hope everyone has an amazing holiday season and is looking forward to a great 2008. We are looking forward to it as a year to get out of debt. It will be a tough year because we will be putting the screws to our spending trying to get out of debt but it will be worth it. Again everyone have a great time.
